BMW 2002 (1973)

The BMW 2002 is a compact executive car that was produced by the German automaker BMW between 1968 and 1976. It was the successor to the BMW 1500, and was available in two-door coupe and convertible body styles. The 2002 was a popular model for BMW, and helped establish the company as a leading manufacturer of sporty, high-performance vehicles.

The 2002 featured a sleek, aerodynamic design, with a long hood and short rear deck. The car was powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produced around 100 horsepower. It had a four-speed manual transmission, and could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in around 9 seconds. The 2002 was also known for its precise handling and excellent balance, thanks to its rear-wheel drive layout and well-tuned suspension.

Inside, the 2002 featured a simple, minimalist design, with a clean dashboard and well-organized controls. The seats were comfortable and supportive, and there was ample legroom for passengers in the front and rear. The car also had a large trunk, making it a practical choice for long trips.

The BMW 2002 was available in several different trim levels, including the base model, the 2002tii, and the high-performance 2002 Turbo. The 2002tii featured a fuel-injected engine that produced around 130 horsepower, while the 2002 Turbo had a turbocharged engine that produced around 170 horsepower. Both models were highly prized by enthusiasts for their performance and handling.

Over the course of its production, the BMW 2002 underwent several cosmetic and mechanical updates, including new front and rear bumpers, updated headlights and taillights, and a revised grille. However, the basic design of the car remained unchanged, and it remained a popular and well-regarded model throughout its production run.
